Wentworth Falls town
Great weather on Saturday. Took the two hour train ride up to the Blue Mountains, to Wentworth Falls, where i did a bit of a mini bushwalk. Down the Darwin's Walk track, out to the falls and down the steep steps to the National pass. Walked along under the dripping cliffs and had a nbice lunch with a great view out over the Jamieson Valley. Then back up to Wentworth Falls town via the Valley of the Waters. All in, only three hours, but nice. Wish I lived in Wentworth Falls!

The next few photos are all taken with the Leica IIIa and Elmar 35mm lens, unless it's the Contaflex.

Manly ferry to yacht: You're too close
I took this picture on the Manly ferry on the way home after a long hot day slogging out to North Head. I should have used a wide angle lens but I only had my 50mm Summicron lens handy on the Leica R3. Still, the shots didn't come out too bad. All the pictures below are taken with the Summmicron unless otherwise stated.
McKell Park, Darling point
I went down to poncey Darling Point to check out this park that was supposed to have great harbour views. Yes it did. Photo taken with a Leica IIIa and the Elmar 35mm lens.
He's got Ratchet and Klank
Paul at the Vietnames noodle shop in Ashfield last Saturday lunchtime before going to Chinese class. I love those Pho noodle soups. Leica IIIa and Elmar 35mm lens.
Strathfield Plaza
God I hate Strathfield. Boring as hell. Wish I could afford to live near the Uni or Balmain. Photo taken with Leica IIIa and Elmar 35mm lens.
Andrew and new bike
I took these bike pictures with the Contax IIa and you can see how it gives too much contrast some times. The Leica (and my cheapo Voigtlander Vito B) handle extreme differences in sun and sahde much better.
Sunday afternoon at Lady Martin's Beach, Point Piper
A short drive out from the city takes you to Point Piper, home of Sydney's filthy rich. But why let them have all the fun? There's a tiny public beach at point Piper, that you get to down a small alleyway between the millionaire mansions. It must really annoy the local residents to have us oiks trampling all over their neighbourhood. But there's nothing they can do about it!
Took Andrew and paul down on Sunday arvo to get them some fresh air. Had a great swim ther in the lovely clean and quite warm water. I swam all the ay out past the jetty and got great views of the bridge and inner harbour.

Deana and new pooch
Deana is our editor but as you can see here she's just a big softy when it comes to animals - and babies.

Linda and Benjamin
Our chief sub's just had a little boy, Benjamin, who made his first appearance in the office last week - held in the expert arms of medical editor Linda.
North Head
On Saturday in beautiful weather I took the ferry over to Manly and turned right, instead of going straight down to the beach. Walking uo through the suburban streets, I made my way up past the old artillery school, into the reserve that is now North Head. A hot walk under the midday sun brought me to the lookouts over the Sydney Heads, and marvellous views over the Pacific Ocean. And down along the steep cliffs to the rocks below. Brilliant! (Leica R3 and Summicron)

Queens Beach, along the Heritage shore walk, Vaucluse
On a grey Saturday I took a bus down to Rose bay and Vaucluse. Armed with my Leica R3 (Elmarit-R 35mm) and the Contax IIa, I poked around down the side streets near Kincoppel school, looking a nice view to snap. I stumbled across the beautiful and deserted Queen's Beach, just a few minutes walk away. Wish I'd know about this place before New Year - it would be a great place to view the fireworks. Later, I walked back down to Rose Bay and saw some of the seaplanes taking off and landing. And had a nice lunch at a Thai place - complete with little shrine inside.
